Lin,
prior to 1837, you will have to rely on Parish records, link will help.

I think the site you mean for the baptisms was http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/

As Bert has advised Civil Registration only began in 1837, prior to that we are reliant on baptisms and burials instead of birth and deaths, and the marriage details are much more scant than later on a certificate.

Not all Parish Registers are online, many have not been passed over to Ancestry or Findmypast, and it may mean that a visit to the Record Office to check microfilms.

I have the original information and i got it off Ancestry Catholic Baptisms. I am a novice when it comes to your site www.lan-opc.org.uk. I have 3 baptisms 1 took place in St Nicholas in 1826 and the other 2 in St Peter's Priory in 1831 and 1832. It gives me their birth date and Baptism date. Where do i order the original record from and will it give me any more information. I haven't had much to do with parish records so am not sure what information is on them.
On the lan-opc site how do you know where to search. I have found a St Peter church but there is no information available and not sure if it is St Peter Priory.
Thank you for all your help.

You can't "order" an original record for those dates, if it is a birth you mean, as they are before Civil Registration in 1837, however the microfilms for the baptisms are held at the Liverpool Record Office. It is unlikely that there will be any additional information than what you have already, and if you have seen the images from the RC baptisms on Ancestry, then that is from the original register anyway I'm afraid.

St Peter's in the Lancs OPC may well be St Peter's Church Street, whose records are also held at the RO.
