What is it, you would like to know? This was my parish church up until the 60's.

How interesting, I had no idea it was in use so recently.

It's well worth a visit, for either a drink or a meal, they have preserved the place wonderfully, an amazing environment for socialising and the Lady Chapel is beautiful.

I'm so glad it hasn't been left derelict.

I have been there for meals on my visits to Liverpool. A couple of my relatives were married in St Peter Priory and I wondered if it was the same place. I have always thought a priory would be a much bigger establishment. There is St Peter's Church on the internet which is the Alma de Cuba, but would this be the priory?

Thanks.

Yes it would be the same. They converted it to the Alma de Cuba

Thank you all for your replies. I thought a priory would be much bigger than the Alma de Cuba. And yes, I have been there a few times during my visits to Liverpool. Good value, I think.

I thought it a pricey meal, one more for occasions than regular but it was very nice. The settings made it for me, I know people will say that "it's a shame, should have been kept as a church" but I think that at least it has been preserved - and well, and it is still there for us to visit and admire. As it is a listed building it would be very difficult to know what else to do with it, certainly it wouldn't have the size of congregation to keep it going as a church.

By the standards and prices down here I thought it was reasonable for the meal I had.

Do you work in the Records Office? I suspect you do from the way you said that you look up information. Perhaps I have met you when I have been in there. I have met Katie the Strays Co-ordinator. I am the good looking one that pops in periodically lol.
