Hmmm, I thought as much given that the 1901 gives Thomas' place of birth as Liverpool. OK, eyes down, look in! Again! :D
But the occupations of Thomas in both the 1901 and 1911 match, if that's any help.
And the John Heraty with a daughter Elizabeth is also a ship's stoker/fireman. Could they be brothers?

It's entirely up to you whether you wish to get the marriage certificates or use those I have posted above which are from the RC registers.

The GRO ones will give little extra information but will confirm their ages and occupations, and the occupations of the fathers.

You can order them online at http://www.gro.gov.uk at a cost of £9.25 using the following references

Q2 1918 Foster Joseph Heraty Elizabeth W.Derby 8b 748
Q2 1895 Heraty Thomas Cullen Annie Liverpool 8b 237

Dickiesam, I am thinking the families are related, especially they were both living in the same street in 1901

Marriages Jun 1894: HERATY, John married Hayden, Elizabeth - W. Derby 8b 820
From LancsBMD: West Derby, Register Office or Registrar Attended.

Is the RC marriage online to see if John's parents match Thomas'?

OK - the parents of the wrong Elizabeth from her baptism on 10 June 1894 are John Herity and Elizabeth (maiden name Hayden). Godparents Matthew Boyd and Rosa Anna Hayden.

The marriage of her parents in St Francis Xavier have the same parents, Thomas and Elizabeth, but different address, not so unusual I suppose.

The only baptism I can find for a Thomas and Elizabeth would appear to fit one of those entries.

Born 14 December, baptised 29 December 1867 at St Mary's, Thomas Heratty, parents Thomas and Eliza (nee Manning) Godparents Thomas Fleming and Rosanna Fleming

Coincidentally there is a baptism for Thomas Henry Fleming in St Mary's 12 January (bap 19 January) 1870 parents Patritu and Margaritae Fleming (nee Herrity) Godparents Thomas and Eliza Herrity.

And I think the parents are all inter-married somehow, other baptisms for Fleming children have parents Thomas Fleming and Rosae Annae (nee Manning).

And another baptism to fit our Thomas and Eliza Haraty (nee Manning) is Petrus (Peter) Haraty at All Souls born 29 June, baptised 8 July 1873, godparent Maria Ana Conway. Peter married Margaret McMillan in St Francis Xavier in 1909.

Another in SFX 9 September, 19 September, 1869 George Francis Herrity, parents as above, Godparents Patrick Fleming and Anna Walsh. Parents Thomas Herrity and Eliza (nee Manning)

(Patrick Fleming appears to have married an Elizabeth Manning)

Witnesses Augustine Quinn of Rigby Street and Maria Kelly of Ashton Street

Hi Mary,

St Mary's RC was in Edmund Street at that date the church moved to Highfield Street in the 1880s.

The 1871 Census has the mother called Bridget and these marriages suggest the father was called Andrew:-

Name: Margaritam Heraghty
Marriage Date: 15 May 1861
Parish: Our Lady of Reconciliation de La Salette, Lancashire, England
Spouse's Name: Patricium Fleming
Father's Name: Andreas Heraghty
Spouse Father's Name: Joannis Fleming

Name: Thomam Heraty
Marriage Date: 27 Feb 1867
Parish: St Mary, Lancashire, England
Spouse's Name: Elizabeth Manning
Father's Name: Andrai Heraty
Spouse Father's Name: Joannis Manning

So possible match for Thomas' birth/baptism:-

Name: Thomas Heraghty
Year: 1843
Father: Andrew
Mother: Bridget
Parish: Aghagower/Aughagower RC
County: Mayo

http://www.rootsireland.ie/

Griffith's Valuation of Ireland, 1847-64 (this record was printed in 1855)

Occupier: Andrew Heraghty
Lessor: Sir Wm Roger Palmer Bart
County: Mayo
Barony: Burrishoole
Parish: Islandeady (next parish to Aghagower/Aughagower)
Townland: Carrowbeg
