Michael Hart 33 dock labourer

Have they all gone travelling and Margaret died whilst away?

Hello dickiesam

Let me summarise so far!

William Henry Donakey (Mariner) who married Margaret Jane Johnson in October 1883 has now died at sea in February 1910 still married to Elizabeth Donakey nee Hart which was his (and her) 2nd marraige?

Previously as a widow of Margaret Jane Donakey Henry Donakey (Mariner) married Elizabeth Hart (who was in turn a widow) on 07/01/1898?

So when did Margaret Jane Donakey nee Johnson died? since William Henry Donakey son of William Henry Donaky and Maryaret Jane Donaky (spellings as below) was baptised on 16th February 1887!

Best Regards
Allan

I can't see her death... would she be listed in deaths at sea also... I believe some wives went with their mariner husbands. Could their son William Henry have died too?

Still no sign of John Johnson/Donakey in 1891 either :( reckon they are all away together somewhere

No death for Margaret Jane D, on land or at sea, and none for young William either. I reckon she may have moved in with a 'new' spouse as a common-law wife with a new surname with her child. Perhaps before hubby died?

Hello dickiesam

"OK... this is a snippet for the back-burner, for consideration if we find the marriage of Ephraim and Jane somewhere in Ireland, probably in the North, and discover her father is a Joseph.

From FamilySearch, of no particular significance now... it's a maybe...
Name: Jane Laverty
Baptism/christening date: 27 Nov 1814
Baptism/christening place: DONAGHMORE, TYRONE, IRELAND
Father's name: Joseph Laverty
Mother's name: Elizabeth"

According to the 1851 census whilst at 52 Wright Street Jane Johnson nee Laverty was 30 so she was not born until 1821/1822. This has also been consistant throughout other census.

Hello

I have searched Ancestry this afternoon and I am trying to find where the Johnson Family below lived when the 1891 and the 1901 census was done when they had Family. I have put John (head) and Phebe (wife) in the search engine but the only possible is someone in Blackburn with no children..Can anyone help please? Am I doing something wrong?

Hilda Primrose Johnson was born 19/04/1910 to John Johnson born 23/02/1870 and Phoebe Abigail Johnson nee Colyer born 17/06/1873. They were married 10/08/1890. The 1911 census for 58 Morville Street Toxteth Park Liverpool shows:
John Johnston (head) 40
Phebe Johnston (wife) 38
Phebe Johnston (d'tr) 20
Mary Ellen Johnston (d'tr) 18
Henriette Johnston (d'tr) 16
Margrette Johnston (d'tr) 11
Lena Johnston (d'tr) 7
Eva Johnston (d'tr) 4
Hildia Johnston (d'tr) 11/12
Henry Heaney (lodger) 21

I think you are being too precise with the spelling of Phebe, try using Phoebe. 1901 has them living at 66 South Street RG13; Piece: 3435; Folio: 180; Page: 11.

Checking 1891 now.

For forenames and surnames I always use the variations option if available, and usually search for the youngest child [less likelihood of an age error], and have to say often resort to using a wild card in a name such as John* for Johnson, Johnston, Johnstone, etc. Don't know about Ancestry but FMP allows a 'forename only search' in censuses and you can include the forename of another resident who 'should' be present in the household.
