turns out he was a bigamist. I'm decended from his bigamous marriage in Liverpool. he hid away under his wifes maiden name in the 1911 census. I told my nan she half brothers but didn't deem it fair to spoil her happy memories of a father she adored. she passed away aged 96 earlier this year.
