Missing Friends and Family - Updated 13th July 2010

The Liverpool Weekly Mercury published a column titled Missing Friends. It was free for relatives or friends to insert appeals about missing Family and friends. I have copied those that were published close to the 1891,1901 and 1911 Census. I will extract those which cover the Liverpool and South West Lancashire area.

*** Many thanks for your kindness in inserting in the "Missing Friends column" the notice asking for information concerning Charles Parry who left Bootle 21 years ago. I am happy to say I have heard from him -
His sister Mary Anna Seddon, 3 Bennett Place, Derby Road, Bootle.

Wanted the address of Edward Hogan last heard of about 12 years ago in San Franscisco. Address Mrs. F. Burns 168, Victoria Square, Liverpool.

Wanted tidings of Walter Sheffield, aged 20 who left home for the States four years ago; last heard of in August last from Buffalo, and was then on his way home from Chicago, - Address Caroline Sheffield, 52, Mulberry Street, Liverpool.

Wanted to know the address of William White, son of the late Joseph White of Hogaton, near Aylesbury, Bucks. Last heard of about 25 years ago as foreman of cement works, Nine Elms London; also the address of Josiah White brother of the above William White and last heard of about 25 years ago as railway guard from London to Scotland. - Inquirer J.A. Wanted to know the whereabouts of Edward Donohoe tallow chandler, a native of Belfast last heard of in 1863 when he was said to be employed at Price's Candle Works and resided in Brick Lane, St Lukes in the East, London.
