Re: Second-Mate Joseph Lonsdale Robinson
What a terrific find, Katie! This gentleman was the first husband of May who went on to marry my husband's uncle in 1920. She and Joseph were married at St. Peter's Church, Aintree in 1915 so barely had two years together. I knew she was a 'war' widow but presumed Joseph had been killed in the war although I couldn't find a record at CWGC. Looking up the report of the accident I can only presume he was buried at Marcross (Glamorgan) as the nearest place to where the accident happened - a report states Bull Point (Lundy Island). Incidentally I think the address should be Caldy Road, Aintree.
Her second marriage to my husband's uncle also took place at St. Peter's Church, Aintree and they went to live in Singapore where he was working. They had two daughters and lived there until the second war when they moved to Perth, Australia until their deaths in the 1960s.
Thank you for enabling me to put another 'brick' in the wall.
