Photo St Mary's Church Kirkdale

I have managed to get a photo copy of a photo copy of a pic of St Mary's Kirkdale, for anyone who had family who used the church.

It is not a very good copy but it was the best I could do.

I don't know the date, but it could be late to early 1900's

Thanks for posting the picture of St Mary's - there is no illustration in "Churches of Liverpool" by David Lewis.
He states that the church was opened in 1836 & the frontage remodelled in 1841. It was closed in 1973 when declared unsafe, and demolished in Jan 1979.

Thanks I have an ancestor who got married in this church in 1922 I didn't know it had been pulled down.

This is the church where my grandfather James Holden was baptised on Apr. 2 1871!

hi interesting to see photo of st marys kirkdale, I (Joyce tHannah Wright nee Powell) was christened there 3rd September 1939 as was my brother John in 1933. my parents Minnie Kenyon /Richard Powell were married there 1932, my grandparents Hannah Mort & William Kenyon were married there 1894.Quite a significant church for the Kenyon family. Incidently on returning home after my christening the family learnt of the decleration of WW2.

Thanks very much for the picture of St Mary Kirkdale. My grandmother and her siblings were baptised there :D
