Private j. Delany of the R.A.M.C attached to the Liverpool Scottish writes to his family in Liverpool:-
"We had a good Christmas dinner. The menu was rabbit, plum pudding, cigars, &c., and a bit of a sing-song afterward. We get very good food here. We got back into the trenches on New year's Eve for four days after six days rest.
Some of the chaps near the trenches killed a pig and some chickens, and we had a fine feed."
