A small report from the Liverpool newspaper I came across for November 1914
Private John Looch, of the 1st King's Liverpool Regiment who sustained a wound in the left arm at Ypres, is now detained in a hospital at Chester. In an interview, he said that during a fierce battle one night, the Germans lost 2,000 and the British 87. The battle of Poursonniers was called by the soldiers "The Battle of One Biscuit" because they had only one biscuit to eat that day.
There is no medal card for a John Looch, so maybe a mispelling of his name
