REPORTED "DIED FROM WOUNDS"
Wallasey Police Officer Safe
The arrival of a postcard from a Wallasey police officer, P.C. Stanley Morris, a corporal in the Grenadier Guards, who was sometime ago reported to have died from wounds, has come as a pleasant surprise to his colleagues in the force.
A letter was received a week or two ago from a fellow constable serving in the same regiment, stating that Corporal Morris had been mortally wounded in an action in France and that he had succumbed to his injuries.
Further inquiries were made with the result that an official postcard has been received from Corporal Morris. He simply states hat he is quite well, and promises further information at a later date.
Can't find any reference to Stanley Morris serving with the Grenadier Guards.
