Some good ones

When one spends most of her time going through old newspapers, one does come across some gooduns! This is taken from the Courier where they had a children's page and the children would send in dittos, letters enter competitions etc. Here is one that made me laugh hope it does you.

An Irishman settled in Canada wrote home to his old mother living in Dublin and asked her to send him an ulster from a well-known shop in that City. He received the coat and with it the following letter:-

"Dear Pat,

I send you the coat you asked for, and as the buttons are rather heavy, I have cut them off to save postage and put them in the top left hand pocket."
