WWII Service Records

Post by MaryA »

Thanks to Dickiesam

https://www.gov.uk/government/organisat ... ce-records

On the left there is a list of links. Click on Requests for personal data and Service records and follow the instructions.

The records will cost you £30. Mine took just under 6 months which is par for the course, so patience is needed. The Records people will keep you updated on the progress of your application. The delay is due to big demand and small staff!

The records will not necessarily have all the 'minute' details of the soldier's Army life, but it will have information from enlistment to discharge and where he was in between.
