I have made a few updates to the site and thought you might be interested in checking them out.
Firstly, I have added three new casualties to the site, local men whose death I have only recently found out about. This goes to show that even after years of research, it is never complete !!
The second update is the inclusion of images from the Parish Church burial registers for those men who are buried in St Mary’s Churchyard, usually having died from wounds received whilst serving overseas. This is the result of research at Lancashire Records Office.
The final update is to the details of Robert Arthur France, including a copy of a letter he wrote to his 3 year old son in July 1916, about 8 months before he was killed in action. Thanks to the family of Robert, I found that this son, also Robert, went on to be highly decorated in the Second World War and details of this have also been included.
Thanks in advance for visiting the site. If it’s your first visit, why not follow the links to the first newsletter which I added in July.
