This site may have been mentioned already, but I hadn't seen it before. A great collection of Liverpool photographs including, I have to say, a couple of 'sad' snaps of the 'good ship of many memories' the Royal Iris, apparently now rotting away slowly on the Thames. And who remembers the Dingle Steps?
Includes many views from 'across the water', Birkenhead, New Brighton, etc.

The Royal Iris
If memory serves me correctly the original Royal Iris came into service after the end of WW2 and became known as the Fish and Chip boat? Corrections please!
From the Wirral Globe:
The original Royal Iris has been beached for the past two years on the banks of the Thames, London. The ship was retired from service in 1991 fully operational. More here: http://www.wirralglobe.co.uk/archive/20 ... _lives_on/
