Now I've had a hint - somebody thought they would be clever when they went to the National Archives and instead of paying to photocopy each page they emailed them back to themselves at home. BUT the National Archives allow only a limited number of images to be emailed to one address and so the remainder were lost - a bit of a waste of time !
