Re: RC burial

Thanks barbaraW, yes I have followed it up right through to his very grand funeral and have been over to Flaybrick cemetery to see his grave. Even though he was in Liverpool police, he lived in Birkenhead.

Hi. It is not the SVP society that you need, it is SVP RC school. The old school closed many years ago, but there is a primary school now in Liverpool. If you google SVP RC school Liverpool, you will find an email, and website

Re: Can you identify which company occupied this building?

Can remember walking up Vernon St as a child, on way to WH Smith, and remember a candle makers. I think it mostly made church candles, and used to love looking in the windows at all the candles hanging up . Can anyone else remember it.

Re: Can you identify which company occupied this building?

When WH Smith left the building they moved up to premises behind Broadgreen station. Very inconvenient for my mother as her shop was in the city, and did not drive. As for the telephone exchange that was in Old Hall St and was called Lancaster House.

Yes Mary, it has cost a lot over the time. I have a file for Ernest which I cannot bring myself to get rid of, in fact I have become vey fond of him, as he seems not to have had a very good childhood.
