GRO Death Reference:-
PRITCHARD, WILLIAM JOHN 0
GRO Reference: 1858 S Quarter in LIVERPOOL Volume 08B Page 110

Daggers, A few snippets to add to the story. Captain John Sprott on the Airey Force 1873:- http://marinersandships.com.au/1873/09/020air.htm A basic search with Sprott :- http://marinersandships.com.au should yield 23 references to surnames and a ships name. Re: Two John Jones, both Mariners, died 1767 and 1769
Thanks for your help Mary. Gores 1772/1773 has John Jones in Frederick Street (no occupation stated), however, in 1774 the listing is Capt. John Jones 11 Frederick Street, so probably the same one as in Gores 1766. I’ll contact the Library about the list of Captains. ________________________________...

Two John Jones, both Mariners, died 1767 and 1769
Can anyone on the forum help with this query? I’m trying to find out which one of the two John Jones was the husband of Catherine Jones. They were both mariners, one died in 1767 and the other in 1769. Catherine Loyd (spinster) m. John Jones (mariner) at St. Nicholas, Liverpool, on the 14th May, 176...

Re: Link between the Earles and Briscoes in the late 1700s
It may be worthwhile to search the Cheshire Archives and Local Studies website. The Cheshire Collection is also available on Find My Past. http://archives.cheshire.gov.uk/home.aspx A couple of wills which may be relevant: Samuel Briscoe of Kelsall, Tarvin, a farmer, 1829. Samuel Briscoe of Kelsall, ...

Re: Ann Dawson, convict
Manchester City Council Archives hold some records which may provide additional information on Ann Dawson. It may be worthwhile to contact them as many records would not be online. Re: Ann Dawson, convict
I’m surprised there is only Manchester on the Indictment Record as the Registers normally give a prisoner’s last or usual place of residence, and for large cities you may get a street address, sometimes with a number. Ann Dawson was convicted of stealing on two other occasions before she was transpo...

Glen, There is no entry in the GRO Marine Deaths Indices nor the records of British Nationals who died overseas. It appears that no death certificate was issued (as no body was recovered). Stumbled upon this newspaper article from the Carlisle Journal, 6th February, 1802, just had to share. :) At woman died lately at Rheims, in Germany, at the age of 102, having had 19 husbands, and bred up 27 children; she was attended to the grave by 153 sons, grandsons, and great grandsons: many of...

Re: Indian records help
The screenshot is for Funerals so I don't think it has anything to do with the Baptisms at Camp Poona. Perhaps the document was microfilmed out of sequence, but the only way to confirm would be to trawl through the microfilm. James Butler was in Poona in March, 1851, so it is likely he was stationed...

Can you decipher the name of the camp at the bottom of the page at all? All of my variations in Google have brought zero response. Thanks, John Camp Nusseerabad. It is near Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. Presidency of Bengal. Some background reading here:- http://www.britishempire.co.uk/forces/armycampai...
