Te 1911 Gores Directory (which would be prepared during the year previously) lists Alfred Hazlewood at that address and at 48 Thornton Road was Joseph Henry Willis, a slater. Gosh I am surprised because I have 1911 census....and I have Mary Moody...Charles Moody...Nathan Rankin...Edith Rankin and E...

Re: William Foxley..South Wales Borderers 1916 ?.
I can't make progress on the William Foxley 1890 birth, mothers maiden name, Williams. There doesn't appear to be a Foxley/Williams marriage, perhaps no marriage took place and used the fathers name or married as a widow. Between 1880 and 1900, no other children were born in the Liverpool area, Fox...

Re: William Foxley..South Wales Borderers 1916 ?.
The William Foxley, 18/4/93 and all associated with him, William & Charlotte, Ada Martha, etc, need to be put to one side. This can't be the same person who married Mary Edith in 1917, providing the information on that marriage certificate was given correctly, for now we have to assume it was. An a...

Re: Great Grandmother Annie SMITH, living in Kirkdale
Most of the addresses you mentioned were in Kirkdale and Bootle. Rydal Street was in Litherland near Bootle. This makes the Chelsea Road candidate a good possibility as it's in the right part of Merseyside. Here is some information about the addresses mentioned and a link to a map showing Chelsea R...

Re: William Foxley..South Wales Borderers 1916 ?.
Being 28 in 1917 as you know doesn't give a birth date of 1893. The William Foxley born to William & Charlotte was born 1893, in 1911 he was living with his mother Charlotte and James Yates, William is recorded as Loco fitter, apprentice. The UK railway employment records have an apprentice,, Willi...
