Glavesky / Glavisky

Hi all I received an email from a lady who has sight problems and has asked for help about Joseph Glavesky who lived and died in Liverpool, buried in Ford Cemetry. Joseph came from Lithuania although census entries say Poland, Russia. I have done all the Ancestry, Findmypast, Lancs bmd etc and have ...

Re: John Jolliffe born 1809

Yup that's all the same stuff I have.
It's one of those annoying loose ends that need tidying. Unfortunately John was born c1809 and the John (mine) from Old Haymarket c1807. It looks like John 1807 and his wife had no issue.

Thanks to all I'll have to put this one away again.

Re: Thomas Andrew Jolliffe

Thanks Bert looks like the marriage. I don't have access to Scotland's people hence me being unable to find his first marriage.

I can't make out Catherine's father's surname it could be Stewart, his forename was Robert.

Thanks again.

Re: Andrew Dunn, engineer.

Thanks to all for your help.

Another can(s) of worms opened as there is no mention anywhere of an Ann/Mary Jollife just Errington and now a widow  .

Still if it was quick and easy there'd be no fun !

Re: Andrew Dunn, engineer.

Hi Bert, that's the family next to the Thirkells. Now the good news I've looked at the 1844 marriage on freereg and it is the correct one William Dunn (widower) and Ann Errington (widow) father Thomas Jollife (mariner). I have a screen grab from Wallsend BT for the marriage 19 Dec 1844. I thought ma...

I've seen the 1844 marriage but not convinced it's correct as the will clearly states Andrew Dunn hence the question.

Andrew Dunn, engineer.

Thomas Jolliffe's will of 1877 contains a reference to "My sister" Mary Ann Dunn and her husband Andrew. His sister may have been Mary Errington as I believe she was a 1/2 sister. The 1851, 61 and 71 census have a Mary Ann and a William Dunn from Tynemouth (North Shields)in Northumberland then Birke...

Re: 1841 census

Open an image roughly in the area, at the top left is a breadcrumb menu. By clicking on Liverpool a drop down district menu appears , choose the district then ed etc and browse away.

The above works on Ancestry not tried FMP
