Kings Liverpool Regiment Cap Badge

Hi again, Wondering if anyone can help. I have been asked by a relative about purchasing a Kings Liverpool Regiment WW1 cap badge. My two great uncles (brothers) died in the war, and I'm not sure whether the badges are exactly the same for all the battalions ( they weren't in the pals). I have seen ...

Re: Walton St Mary's Bowling club

Hi. I have just had a look at the photo on flickr (very interesting site), and I'm not sure if it is the same club, as it's called Walton Park, and mine is St Mary's Walton, also my photo is quite a bit older, so the name might have changed over the years. I did take the opportunity while I was on t...

Walton St Mary's Bowling club

Hi, Does anyone know anything about Walton St. Mary's Bowling Club. I have a large picture taken (not quite sure of the date) about early 1900's -34 members with a large cup. Some of them are holding straw boater hats. In the background is the back of the Brown Cow public house on the corner of Chur...

Re: Can't find death records.

Thanks Amanda I'm still keeping an open mind on that. It's just that I have two other merchant mariners in the 1850's, and they gave up the sea in their late 30's - I assume they where not physically able anymore, as it must have been a tough job. I have thought about trying to trace his merchant re...

Re: Can't find death records.

Yes, I think it's going to be a long job going through the burials. I think they were starting to go to Anfield in 1860's as the cemetries were getting full up, but it's still a guess. I might look a bit further in the workhouse in case Catherine came in again. It didn't say where she was going after...

Can't find death records.

My first time on the Forum, so here goes. I have been searching for the death records for my 2xgrt. Grandparents James Jasper and Catherine McDougall for a number of years without any success. I have looked on Freebmd-Microfiche, Ancestry,Lancashire Bmd, and tried variant spellings. They married in ...
