Re: Adoption between 1913 and 1937

Hi McIver919. The other replies are correct, but there is a possibility that some areas of the country werent 100% following the national directive. My Mum has her official adoption papers from Nov 2nd 1927, so, as in all things, check a couple of years either side of dates, even if you think they a...

Re: John Smith & Parents George Smith & Eliza Radican/Keirna

MaryA, thank you. You have confirmed it. All those children are correct. Also ive found Marriage vol 20 page 561 Manchester for both Eliza Keirnan, and seperately George Smith. I had rushed along a couple of years ago when seeing the first possible match and not confirmed whether there were any othe...

Re: John Smith & Parents George Smith & Eliza Radican/Keirna

http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh44/CrystalUk69/e02d9018.jpg Here is where you say " why did he do that"? I thought it would be Radican, so when it arrived, i thought, no, it says Kiernan. But if the K was really an R, the a was really a D, and the first n was a k, it all fitted into place. I t...

John Smith & Parents George Smith & Eliza Radican/Keirnan

Hi all :D I usually have a look on here once a day and just check the new posts. Even if they are not relevant to me. The help given on this site is unbelievable, and the clues it gives me by looking through other peoples questions, and the responses, are great. Being a Manc, we seem to have a sort ...
