Robert Gerrard coroner's report

Hello, I have just been re-examining the death certificate of Robert Gerrard, my gt gt gt grandfather, who died at St Helens' Junction on 12th July, 1858. His death was certified on 29th July, 1858 by Charles Driffield, Prescot coroner. Cause of death is given as "natural decay, old age, fell dead a...

Tina, I know that they got married in the same quarter of 1883, but I haven't got their certs yet - must do that. It would be lovely to think that they had a double wedding wouldn't it? I know that Lillian had no children, but Emma had a least two.

Joseph Jameson

Hello Ladies, all the children's baptisms are correct because I recognise Lillian, Emma and Linda Jameson as my family (Linda was my g grandmother and Lillian and Emma were her 2 sisters). I don't think the Runcorn ones are mine. Any ideas as to their whereabouts in the 1911 census? It is sad about ...

Joseph Jameson

Hi, I wonder if you can give me help on Joseph Jameson and his family? He was born in 1854 in St Helens, father William Jameson and mother is Annie Maria nee Taylor. In 1881 he is a pawnbroker and is married to Alice Dutton (they married in West Derby in 1875) who is born in Runcorn. He has 2 childr...

Chris, as usual you have come up trumps. What can I say? It is so good of you to do this for me - and we're not even related so it's not as though all this searching is helping you with your family history. I can't thank you enough.

How fascinating it all is! Thanks again, Anna

Chris, I am amazed at what you are finding out! I knew when Rachel D died, but had no idea her husband had been killed in an accident. Also, I didn't know she was older than her husband. As for the other deaths - who is Edward Archibald Doyle? Is he the son of James Doyle and Margaret Cannon? It wou...

Hi Chris, thank you again for all your efforts on my behalf. I did know about Eddie's death, but I didn't know when Mary Doyle died, so it is great to know the date. Why would there have been an inquest?

Thanks again, Anna

Tina, thank you for this. I can find Mary in 1891 but not in 1901. I did know that Rachel married John Donaldson and that she died in 1922. And those are my Doyles - thank you again.

Chris, again many thanks. I had the birth dates for all those you mentioned in your message, but it is nice to know all their middle names. Alice Linda did drop her first Christian name - in fact, when I saw her in the 1901 census she was down as Alice and I had no idea who she was as nobody in the ...

Hi Chris, this information is wonderful - I knew roughly when Percy and Mary B died, but to have the dates is fantastic. I'm also stuck with my g grandfather (Charles George McD died in Whiston in 1903); I know he was born in Ireland but no idea where and he was in the 13th Hussars as Baden Powell's...

Chris, thanks for everything you've done for me.

I don't have cemetery records for Leo, Percy and Mary Bertha McDonnell, so if you could let me have those it would be great!

Thanks, Anna

Hi Chris, thank you very much for all this information. I thought St Bede's was Catholic and I think the family was C of E. However, they are all the right people.

How do I go about getting this baptismal information?

Thanks, Anna

Hi Mary, thank you so much for your reply. I think the death in 1936 seems likely to be her - I will send off for the cert. I don't know why I couldn't find it!

McDonnells and Doyles

Hi Mary, thank you for your reply. I have birth and marriage certs for the McDonnels but can't find Annie McD's death anywhere. She was alive in 1911. Also, I would like to know where Charles served and was hoping to find him on some sort of military site, but haven't had any luck. I thought if I fo...

McDonnell and Doyle

Hi, I have just joined this site and would be grateful for any information on the McDonnell family living in Widnes, particularly my g grandparents Annie (nee Maxwell) and Charles. I know they were born in Ireland, he in ca. 1855 and she in ca. 1859 in Collon, Co Louth. They had 6 sons, Charles, Per...
