Hiya - an Australian is visiting Liverpool next month looking for details of an Ancestor
William Taylor Sale died 27th May 1857 - he was a Pilot on the pilot boats on the Mersey .ACCIDENT AT SEA
Does anybody know whether we can find any info through newspapers relating to this death ??

Thanks Fledge ...her gg grandfather was a successful Engineer and had his business in Park Lane ...I have told her to join this site ...so hopefully she will add a post to this thread

Someone on another Genealogy site has a photograph of her gg grandfather in 1860` outside an etablishment named The Seven Stars ...

I used Garston station to Central in the 1960`s and Bold Street was the way out ....and I remember Prince Monolulu very well .....a character at the National every year....

Hiya Dennis...I am in Garston...from Heald Street ...next to Wellington Street....I go to the Welly ( Wellington ) pub most days OPPOSITE number 8 ( pensioners can have a pint when they want , it`s great ) ...loads of McDonalds here in Garston - and Nolans ( don`t know any Nolands )...I have a pint ...

Hi...just to clarify that on freebmd John Heaps was registered June qtr 1877 in Liverpool....this would suggest that he was born apr/ may / june 1877..........so the Texas record doesn`t look good.... the babtism in March is very possible as parents were given 6 weeks to register . oh..and it`s rain...

Hi Garstonite, What I was trying to clarify for any 'newcomers' reading the posts was that a Wavertree BMD would not appear in the GRO Index as Wavertree but would normally be registered as West Derby.
