Re: Relationships

Great stuff Mary. Why make life simple when it can be fun instead.

Bertie one helped me to find my relation to my Canadian "cousins". We are half second cousins in future.

Cheers

One of his sons had in turn eight children. Is there any accepted name for my GGF's second wife? Is there a name of the relatio...

Re: Nathan Abbott Innkeeper of Bold

Hi Alex
Thank you so much for the suggestion and link. I had no idea that these were available. Nathan Abbott was born in 1690 so his family were living there before 1702.
Cheers

Nathan Abbott Innkeeper of Bold

My ancestor Nathan Abbott, an innkeeper of Bold, died in 1727. In his will he refers to two pieces of property that he owns. The handwriting in the will is difficult to interpret, but it looks like Mosswaye Cottage and a piece of land called Newlay, “lawly purchased from Thomas Blackburn of Bold”. I...

Re: Mofstays Cottage Cronton/Bold

Mary, thank you for all your help with the maps. The side by side function is very useful. A rereading of the will from 1727 indicates that the cottage is more likely in Bold, not Cronton and the name possibly Mosswaye. In Bold there is a farm called Abbottfield Farm which could indicate a connectio...

Mofstays Cottage Cronton/Bold

The above property is mentioned in the will of Nathan Abbott, innkeeper of Bold, written in 1727. Nathan is the oldest Abbott (my mother's family) I have found in my tree. I am trying to find a location for the cottage and anything about its history. On Google I found a row of cottages, now a "barn ...

Re: Burial record/gravestone Penketh

Elizabeth Keeling Thank you for response, Mary A and Blue. Of course I did mean the St Mary's in Great Sankey. In 1891 Elizabeth was living with her parents at the Van Tromp Beerhouse in Marsh Street, West bank, Widnes. Last known record was her marriage in 1893 at St Ambrose church. Elizabeth's pa...
