Re: Marriages St Anthony's RC Church Scotland Road
Thanks for the info Mary. I suspect he didn't lie as I presume he would have been terrified of the mother in law. Also he was buried in Ford cemetery which I am told is for Catholics only. I will look to see if I can find a baptism for him in the Catholic records. He was baptised in St Mary's Walton...

As Elizabeth Ferns was a Catholic and Charles Evans wasn't, would Charles have had to change his religion in order for this ceremony to take place please? Does anyone know about this type of thing please? Many thank...

Elizabeth Ferns married a Charles Evans 4 November 1924 and then again in church on 14 April 1925. Would you have any idea where I could get this church record fro...

Re: Electoral Roles
Hi Dickie There is only one Julia Evans marriage I can find in Liverpool and this one married a Thomas Bennett in 1927. Julia was born in October 1906 I believe. Also there was a Thomas Bennett, with an Evans mother, born in 1927. I suspect it is this one. I also think this baby died in 1927 and she...

Re: Electoral Roles
I think the best thing I can do is get the marriage certificate and then work from there. I know she was in Birchfield Road/Street in the mid fifties when her father died and she was married at this time. I am hoping to come up to Liverpool soon so I can have a look in the Records Office. It would h...

Re: Electoral Roles
It is amazing how quickly you get all this information! I have been searching all morning and have come up with what you have but it has taken me hours! I know for sure she married a Bennett because the reported her father's death in 1956(?) under her married name of Bennett. There is only one Julia...

Re: Electoral Roles
Hi there Dickie I am looking for Julia Evans who married a Thomas Bennett in 1927. So any time after that really. I don't know where she lived other than Liverpool, probably West Derby. I don't expect you to do my searching. I am just wondering if the roles are on line somewhere as I live in Kent an...

By the standards and prices down here I thought it was reasonable for the meal I had. Do you work in the Records Office? I suspect you do from the way you said that you look up information. Perhaps I have met you when I have been in there. I have met Katie the Strays Co-ordinator. I am the good look...

Yes, James (Michael's brother) was my great grandfather. He is the one I have written to you about before ie the one with the carting business in the Gorree Plaza. The little information I have has been passed to me verbally from an elderly cousin of my mother. Whether she remembers any of this or i...

Re: Was Kathleen Archer from Killarney - any records?
Thank you for this information DS. Do you think she would have travelled from Ireland alone? She would have been quite young - teenager probably. The baby's birth certificate (which I also have) gives a former address in Clapham (south London) as her address prior to going into the workhouse to give...
