Re: Actg Coy Sgt Mjr WE Wheeler 11 Hussars

This is interesting! When I first read the post, I was unsure that the information was correct as the 11th Hussars did not form part of the 5th West Lancashire Division however, 5722 A CSM W E Wheeler was attached to the 1/4th South Lancs which did form part of the division. Looking at the LG date, ...

Re: Con 177 K George Alexander ARCHIBALD

Thank you all for your help.

The family's whereabouts in 1901 is a puzzle.

Tina, where did you find the info on John? I think he also became a policeman.

Re: Private Edward Rice King's Liverpool Regiment

It would be worthwhile contacting Ken as his service number indicates he was in the 9th King's.

Awarded SWB number B39699

Enlisted 10.12.1915

Discharged 12.10.1918; the cause given as "sickness".

At Festubert on the 16th May 1915, he was recommended for a DCM, for rescuing wounded under fire. He received a Mention in Despatches instead and a Military Medal in 1...

Re: H F Claydon GM Updated - new material found!

Let us pause and remember those who resided in Adlington and Lace Street, Liverpool and who died on the night of 12/13th March 1941.

Let us also remember those who selflessly risked their lives to rescue those that survived.
