you have to apply to the territorial capitol for bmd records. Canadian birth certificates are issued by the government of the province in which you were born. same with marriage and death.

the discrepency in address could be due to the fact that many sick would go to a local woman who acted like a nurse, tending the sick in her home, delivering babies etc.

if you request a copy from the Manx Museum then you can ask for a typed transcript of it. as well as a copy of the original. it will cost a little more but not much. you will be surprised at what is on it. where his property went, interred, debtors, creditors etc

sometimes when a registrar was in attendance and the bride/groom could not write, he made note that their mark was made in his presence at the wedding, simply to avoid issues later on.

like Dickie I keep hard copies of certificates, censuses and photo's in binders protected by acid free sleeves.
